 Resources for Students

 University can be an exciting, yet difficult experience for many students. Reconnecting with our faith and identity can heal and alleviate troubles in times of distress. The MSA is more than willing to provide resources for mental health support & spiritual aid for students. We encourage all of our students to utilize these resources and to reach out when seeking support.

General Resources

Alberta Health Services

The Alberta Health Services' Mental Health Help line is a 24/7 free, confidential anonymous service offered to Albertans seeking mental health support.

Naseeha Helpline

The Naseeha Muslim Youth Helpline is a confidential youth helpline that provides an anonymous, non-judgemental, free support helpine to assist muslim youth with personal challenges.

Youthspace

An open platform for anyone under the age of 30 in Canada experiencing distress to speak with trained volunteers online. Chat hours are between 7 PM and 1 AM Edmonton time.

Yaqeen Institute

Yaqeen Institute is a research institute that focuses on historical and contemporary issues relevant to Muslims. Many academic resources are available to understand and reconnect with Islam.

HEART

HEART aims to help promote awareness and confrontation of sexual violence & health in Muslim communities.
